About the Role
The Instructor II is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom-based education to Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) students at Zia CDL Academy. This role focuses on preparing students for the CDL permit exam, teaching pre-trip inspection protocols and behind-the-wheel training, processing student payments, managing student in-processing and document verification, and performing administrative tasks such as record-keeping and assembling orientation packets. The instructor is expected to maintain a professional classroom environment while adhering to Zia CDL Academy’s curriculum and policies.

Required Qualifications
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and time-management abilities for handling multiple administrative and supervisory tasks.
• Proficiency in company systems for student payments, data entry, scheduling, payroll, and document verification.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and financial transactions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Must meet all applicable FMCSA 49 CFR § 380.605 requirements for Theory Instructors (including holding or previously holding the appropriate CDL class/endorsements and at least 2 years of verifiable CMV driving experience or 2 years as a BTW instructor, plus all applicable New Mexico state instructor qualifications).• Must meet all applicable FMCSA 49 CFR § 380.605 requirements for Theory Instructors (including holding or previously holding the appropriate CDL class/endorsements and at least 2 years of verifiable CMV driving experience or 2 years as a BTW instructor, plus all applicable New Mexico state instructor qualifications).
